It’s that time of year to start thinking of Halloween Decorating! This year I wanted to create a mummy wreath. To make this wreath you will need the following:
- White fabric to cover the wreath
- Black & Gray fabric for the flowers
- Styrofoam wreath
- Needle & Thread
- Crow
I started out tearing up a white pillowcase. I used the cuff of the pillowcase to cover a 16″ styrofoam wreath, then I used strips winding around the entire wreath overlapping where one strip ended and a new one began to keep the strips from falling off the wreath. After completely covering the wreath in the white strips I tied additional strips sporadically around the wreath.
I used some black fabric I had left over from a witches hat I made last year and some gray wool ribbon my sister gave to me to make the flowers. To make the flowers I just cut strips, twisted the strips and then in a circular pattern formed a rosette. I used some thread to keep the rosettes from unraveling. Once I had enough flowers made I tacked them onto the wreath with a needle and thread.
The last step was to put the crow onto the wreath! You could hot glue the crow on but I just sat mine on there.
