Are you looking for a super easy inexpensive art project for your fall decor? Look no more! This project took me less then an hour and was free! Pained gold leaves, it just doesn’t get any easier!
Supplies you will need:
Gold paint

I used one red oak, one white oak and one maple leaf from my yard and painted them with some gold craft paint I had.
If you are loving Gold this season give these painted gold leaves a try! If you do a project like this leave a comment with a link to your project, I’d love to see it!

Your blog inspired me to take a walk in my new neighbourhood and glam up the nature with some gold paint for a quick project, using material I already had on hand. Thanks for the inspiration! See my project here: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/464293042813405075/

This is genius and I love it! It’s one of my personal faves from last week’s Home[work} Wednesday bloghop and will be featured on my blog when the party goes live at 8pm on Tuesday night. Thank you for linking up!
Aww Thank you so much Suzy!!
I’m going to try coating some really colorful leaves with clear fingernail polish, maybe even with glitter either in the polish or added. I love the color of the leaves. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks for stopping by Nancy! If the clear nail polish doesn’t work for you I know dipping them in paraffin wax works awesome!

What a fab idea! They turned out beautifully!
Thank you so much Emily!
Over time, doesn’t the leaves decay or start looking dead?
They haven’t so far but I don’t expect them to last beyond the season, which is fine I can just paint more leaves next fall.
How cute! Love that you chose gold and that they could be switched out every season! What a perfect statement piece : )
Thank you so much Jodie!
looks high-end and perfect for the season! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much Vel!
Absolutely beautiful! Pinning immediately!

Aww thank you so much Val that is so nice of you!!
Looks like a really easy craft fair project, especially since I have several black frames. The matting may be from hand made paper – or not. Depends on if I get that energetic.
It was really easy Nancy you should give it a shot!
I am amazed ..wonder how much they would cost in one of those high end stores. I LOVE THEM
🙂 Thank you Judy! I’m pretty happy with them, they are actually prettier in person then in the photos!
Dria, A suggestion, prime fresh leaves with silver spray paint first covering both sides. Let paint dry. Then coat over with your gold, with spray solid or streak it on. Interesting results and fear not that leaves will eventually crumble. (That last remark is for people who love their leaves FOREVER!) We did a few in the florist shop that turned out great! Rich Look!!!
That’s a great tip Aathy thanks so much!
Thank you for the link but the one thing that it doesn’t address….did you pain on both sides?
Hi Helen, I only painted the front of the leaves!
pretty…behind glass? don’t look flattened
Thank you Maxine! Yes these are behind glass, they aren’t flat I’m not sure if it’s because they were still green when I painted them?
I haven’t seen anything like them anywhere else. Very creative, and they turned out so elegant looking. Love them!
Thank you so much Loribeth! I’m loving them too, the wall I have them on was pretty empty for a long time!
Your leaves are gorgeous! Don’t know when I might find time to do this but if I do I’ll certainly share 🙂
Thank you so much Donna! They were so easy to do, I’d love to see yours when you do them 🙂
