As soon as my kitchen renovation is finished I am either moving onto the office or the dining room (the dining room would be so much easier but I like to torment myself and will probably do the office first!). So I’ve started my planning for both of these rooms. The problem is with the conflicting office styles that I like! I came across three offices on pinterest that I love. Let me show you these spaces then we can move onto the dilemma.
Here is how my office currently looks (lots to be desired!)

This is the first office I fell in love with. The only thing I wanted to change for my own house would be to do box molding from the baseboard up to about eye level or maybe a little taller.
Love the wall color, the chandelier, the rug, the drapes. So I was originally going to go with this as my inspiration, along with adding in the white wainscot like Emily from Decorchick added to her daughters nursery like this…. (that gray wall color in decorchicks photo is amazing, I love it and the gold frames on the wall are stunning! I actually think I love her gray paint color the most out of the gray rooms I have in this post).
Then I came across this office
This office space is from Duo Ventures
It’s similar to the first office, similar wall color, however this one has more pops of white that I love, the gold accessories on the desk and I love that chandelier! My desk is already black and I have a dresser in the basement waiting to be used somehow!
I’m sure at this point you are thinking ok they are very similar rooms what is your dilemma. Here it is.

There I was all set to do a gray and white office then I saw this room, sigh. I love it, love it just as much as I love the two gray offices. So here I sit wondering am I going to get tired of one look over the other? Could I pull off this last look with the white wainscot that I had my heart set on? Since I am considering making slip covers for my dining room chairs and redoing the table will my house look like it’s all French? I don’t want a whole house styled in one theme…. or do I?
The similarities, both gray rooms have gray walls, the first gray room and the last french style room have wood tone desks and natural textiles like the rug in the gray room and the baskets in the french room. The last room has the gold like decorchick used. The three rooms have similar things but they feel completely different.
So there you have it, my conflicting office styles!! Did writing this post make anything more clear for me? Nope, only confused me even more because now I am totally loving all the gold Emily used in that nursery!!
