When I was doing my living room makeover I needed something for the feature wall. Since I had a very tight budget I knew I was going to be making the artwork for this wall. While I have a bunch of frames in my house I wanted something that looked a little more industrial, I had thought of using clipboards but I only had two of them in my house and they didn’t match so I decided to make my own DIY Clipboard Art. I looked at the woodpile in my basement and found a sheet of very thing wood. I cut the wood into three pieces to resemble a clipboard. I hot glued some metal clips to the front of these pieces of wood. I stained the wood using my recipe for oxidizing wood. Printed off three photos of my dog and clipped them to the new “clipboard” frames. This project took me about two hours to make. If you have any clipboards or thin wood around your home give this a try it’s incredibly easy, super inexpensive and you can change the artwork out quickly!
If you are wondering what is in my dogs mouth, that would be my purse, the office manager at the Vets office took this photo, when my dog is all done and wants to leave the Vets he picks my purse up and walks to the door. He’s usually “all done” about 1 minute after we get in there lol!
Doing what he loves hanging out on the couch looking out the window! He’s my favorite art subject 😉
Me and my dog, photo was taken about two months ago.
I love the black and white photos on the wood clipboards. This DIY Clipboard Art project is giving me some other ideas for some DIY art for the dining room makeover!
