I have a few valentines crafts for you, one is more traditional and the other is a little more contemporary!
First up is the more traditional red heart garland.
You will need the following to make this:
- Red paper (or whatever color paper you want) I used poster board
- A paper cutter to cut strips or scissors
- Stapler
I used 13 strips of paper, you can use as many as you want depending on the length you will need. I cut each strip in half to give me a total of 26 smaller strips.
Using your stapler, staple two strips together. Take the free ends bend them down and hold in place with two new strips on either side of your ends. Staple those four strips together, repeat for a total of 6 hearts.
Repeat these steps so you will have another row of 6 hearts. With the two rows take your last set of strips attach one strip to the outside of your bottom heart, staple the two bottom hearts with the two remaining strips together, bend the two remaining strips over and staple the bottom of this last heart. This project was so simple, it took me about 15 minutes to complete!
My second project is traditional in color but contemporary in nature, you could make this less traditional by using a different color paper! I used the silhouette to make this (see below for the jpg of this heart if you want to use it with your silhouette machine as well). It’s a Geometric Heart!
I used my graphic software to make this geometric heart shape then printed it out in silhouette. I used a piece of gray scrapbook paper behind the red geometric heart and attached both to a white canvas.
Click on the photo below for a larger version you can save to use with your silhouette machine.
Check back tomorrow to see how I made those wire hearts in the photo above!
I hope you try your hand at one or both of these projects. Be sure to follow along the tour below for more Valentines inspiration! Happy Valentines Everyone!
