Snazzy Little Things on Dio Home Improvements

Greetings from Ohio…and happy 2014! So great to meet everyone, and I just wanted to express my thanks to Dria for asking me to join here here at DIO Home Improvements. I’m so honored to team up with her in 2014, and I plan to pop in here a couple of times each month to say hello, and to share some of my latest DIY projects.

How are you doing on closet space these days? Tiny? Overcrowded? Non-existent? Well…this part of my home presented me with a daily problem. Mine was in a constant state of disarray. I tried purging my closet several times over the years just to *try* to make things work. Well, after my wardrobe downsized to the point where all I could find were plastic bins and yoga pants, I knew it was time to do something drastic. We emptied our closet with the intentions of moving our closet completely. Eventually we built an entire Ikea PAX closet system along a large open wall in our bedroom. Here is what I was working with… closet before stenciling So…what would you do if you had an empty closet to work with? Well..here is what we decided to do…(and yes, I do feel a bit spoiled)… 20131014-230253.jpg

I’m Jeanette and I blog over at Snazzy Little Things. Two years ago I began flipping my then-builders-grade home into a more vintage version of itself. After 7 years of living in a plain, vanilla colored gymnasium, I wanted desperately to make my house look more like “me”. My style tends to gravitate more towards French-industrial, rustic and chippy antiques. My favorite store? Restoration Hardware.

But I’ve always loved beautiful, shiny things, old sheet music, art deco and anything Old Hollywood.

I hope you’ll come visit my blog, Snazzy Little Things. Here I will show you exactly how I transformed this space, including a stenciling tutorial — as well as details on how to stencil corners and along the ceiling.

I’m all about trying to make my house more functional, but I love to have fun experimenting with new colors and the latest DIY techniques that I stumble upon across the web. I’d love it if you stopped by my blog to witness the full DIY of my closet makeover. Thanks so much, and be sure to follow along and join me during all of my thrifting and DIY adventures as well.

I look forward to spending time with Dria, and all of you in the coming year!
