Spring 2013 Wrap Up & Sneak Peek!

This spring has gone by so fast, it’s hard to believe we are almost into July already!  Before we know it we will be decorating for fall!  The projects I’ve worked on this spring have been a lot of fun, some projects are taking far longer then I expected (not awesome for this impatient girl!) and some projects I scrapped altogether!

To wrap up the spring projects lets look back at what was done and take a sneak peek at the summer projects already in the works!

I’ve been revamping my kitchen for weeks now and that’s where the spring projects start!  First on the agenda was the kitchen walls, removing the fabric tape and skim coating all the walls and then choosing the wrong wall color the beginning of this project was not so glamorous or fun!!  You can read more about that here.

Once I had the walls fixed I moved onto a fun project installing board & batten  and a DIY air return vent

I tend to work on multiple projects at once, I spent a day redoing the end table in my living room (this end table used to be a night stand in my parents bedroom it was originally off white with gold on the raised accents) years ago my mom had me paint the bottom all white for her.  It was starting to look a bit dingy so I gave it a fresh coat of white and then painted the top drawer a very dark gray/blue color.  You aren’t losing your mind 🙂 this is a project I never showed on the blog until today!

🙂 my dog decided to lay down while I was taking some photos, I didn’t have the heart to ask him to move!

The next project was building the Plumbers Pipe Bench and the home made Oxidize Stain made from vinegar and steel wool!  That project was so easy and fun to do!

Then I started in on the kitchen cabinets (which are still a work in progress) so far I have extended the cabinets up to the ceiling and built a refrigerator surround.  Then I painted the cabinet boxes, the cabinet doors are waiting to be sanded and painted.  After that I have to make a cabinet door for the fridge surround.  Once all this is finished then the fun stuff will be on the agenda, like doing the back splash, kitchen counters and new hardware, of course I have a handful of other surprises that will be happening in the kitchen too but I’m not going to spill the beans on those just yet!

I’ll leave you with a sneak peek at what’s to come this summer!
