I can’t believe it’s December already this year has flown by! I have to admit, I usually put my Christmas decorations up the day after Thanksgiving but this year I put my Christmas tree up the first weekend in November, I just couldn’t wait! I went with the gold, ivory/white and bronze again this year for my living room tree. My bedroom tree is done all in red and white and my office tree is my nostalgic tree, decorated in gold garland, color lights and all the old ornaments I’ve had since I was born.
My burlap stockings are hung and this year I made a “Tulip Burlap Tree Skirt”. Because I try to vacuum on a daily basis I can’t stand the thought of having dog hair close enough to suck a regular round tree skirt up into the vacuum, so I started thinking of a way to use the extra Burlap I had and decided it would be cool to make the burlap look like a root ball!
It came out perfect and you can vacuum right up to it without pulling it into the vacuum!
I followed the instructions here, it’s so easy to make, took me less than an hour to do this!
My living room and bedroom trees are both prelit with clear lights, I love the white lights, makes tress look so elegant but I do like the color lights as well it makes me feel like a kid again. So once again this year I strung color lights on the living room tree, I turn the clear lights on in the afternoon but after dinner I shut the clear lights off and turn the color lights on. I think next year I will look for a tree that is prelit with both color and clear lights, I found trees like that online but I’d rather buy a tree at a store to see it all set up before purchasing it.
Here is my living room tree with the white lights on:
The same tree with the color lights on (sorry for the quality of these pictures, my cell phone doesn’t take the best photos!)
My burlap stockings (I used burlap to make the stockings, added white cotton at the top then used the same ribbon that is on my tree on top of the white lip of the stockings)
And the red / white bedroom tree
