In one of my previous homes I always put three Christmas Trees up, one was dressed in burgundy & gold ornaments and ribbon, one was dressed in silver & white ornaments and ribbon and the third was a mix of ornaments with either white iridescent garland or gold garland depending on my mood.
I only put one full size tree up in my current house, which for the last few years has been decorated in white and red, with matching gift wrap in solid red with white and red checkered bows and red and white toile wrapping paper with red bows. I have my Christmas tree decorations organized in different containers by tree theme to make it easier to pull down whichever theme boxes. I don’t know why but a few days ago I decided to take all the Christmas containers down from the attic this year instead of just taking the red and white containers down, I’m glad I did this!
I’ve decided to change my color scheme, this year my colors are going to be gold and white. I may use a small hit of red here and there (since the old fashion stockings I have are red and white, although I am tempted to make new stockings, maybe burlap and white or all white I haven’t decided on the stockings yet). What really got me deciding to go with a gold and white theme this year was from a candle globe a friend gave to me yesterday for hosting Thanksgiving. I had planned on my usual red and white this year until I opened that candle globe! It’s strange where your inspiration comes from sometimes! I will post photos once I get the whole house decorated, cleaned and Christmas storage boxes put away!
