It’s officially September which means start pulling all your fall decor out and get going on your autumn projects!
Here is a fun Halloween craft that is easy and inexpensive to make.
The supplies you will need are:
Cardboard
Black Pillowcases
Plastic Bags
Ribbon
Scissors
Pen & String
Hot Glue
Ruler
Determine how big you want the brim of your witches hat to be. Attach a piece of string to a pen with a loop on the other end for your finger to fit in. Keep your finger in the center of the cardboard and use the pen to draw a circle. Make two circles (make one circle a few inches smaller then the other cardboard circle), cut a hole out in the center of both circles.
Lay one black pillowcase on your work surface. Using a ruler draw a diagonal line from one corner down and cut the fabric on the diagonal. You will have one side already stitched from the original pillowcase, turn the fabric wrong side out and stitch the new line you just cut. Turn right side out.
Hot glue the bottom opening of the witches hat to the outside rim of the opening in the smaller circle. Fill the inside of your fabric with plastic bags. Squeeze 1/3rd of the way down to separate the bags so your point will fall over (or keep it up straight if you want it to stand up).
With your second pillowcase cut a circle bigger then your larger cardboard circle. Hot glue the fabric around the outside of the circle. Cut a “t” shape inside the small hole fold the flaps over and hot glue in place.
Slide the larger circle over the smaller circle as shown below.
Add your ribbon and you are done! So easy, inexpensive and fast!
