I made this wreath for my front door last weekend that took all of 5 minutes to make and while I liked it, from the street it just didn’t stand out enough on the black front door.
I didn’t have any non grapevine wreaths readily available to make another spring wreath so I did the next best thing, I grabbed a pair of rain boots I had and decided to try that on the door! This project was so easy and fast to do.
Materials:
- Flowers (I had forsythia branches around the house so I just used those I may end up replacing them with some tulips)
- A binder Clip
- A piece of string or yarn
- A boot
I clipped a binder clip to the back side of the boot. I suppose if you don’t mind putting a hole in your boot you could just put a hole in it but I wanted to keep my boots intact in case I want to wear them. Then I tied a length of yarn through one of the binder clip loops, put my flowers in and hung the boot up that’s it!
I got these boots at target, they have them in a pretty aqua color and in yellow too. The aqua was my first choice in color then yellow but both of those were on back order so i just bought the gray.
If a wreath isn’t the look you are going for this year for your spring door decor and want to try something a little outside of the box, use some rain boots or other spring items that you wouldn’t traditionally put on your door! Oh the grapevine spring wreath is now living on the backside of my front door so I can enjoy it from the living room!
